Summer fun!!!

Thanks Grandma for sending the girls shopping for new sunglasses.
Scott started setting up a pool that was also given to us by Grandma and Taylor about two years ago. We set it up and filled it with water for the rest of the day. Over the next three days, we discovered that it had a small leak. The problem was, how to find the leak. After researching several more expensive options, Scott opted for making his own snorkel and going under water to have a look.
Much to my skepticism, he actually found it. At least one definite leak, and several other possible leaks. After patching all of them, it seems to be working great!
Caitlin had her own snorkel lesson.
Brittany is not to sure about the pool, so here is where she spent most of the time, but I'm sure there will be more pool pictures this summer.
Caitlin also discovered the joy of jumping into the pool.
Wet feet...
wet slide...

We know which parent is the culprit when we have our first ER visit.

More Awards

The soccer team went to Genti's for pizza and trophies.
This was Caitilin's 6th soccer season. Here is picture showing different trophies every season.
At the Awana Awards, Caitlin received her 2nd book award.

She also completed the review for the book, the extra credit workbook, another review section, and was working on Psalm 119. This is Caitlin with her Awana leader, DeeDee Baker. The Sparks also sang for the Awards night.
One of Caitlin's best friends, Dani Chaney, is going to move back to Colorado this summer. We'll miss you Dani!!!

Sewing Desk

Also, as part of my Mother's day gift, Scott and the girls made me a sewing desk.

This is Brittany's first time using an electric screwdriver.
Caitlin is an old pro at building things.
I'm so excited about it. It is for my closet. The top is hinged so I can keep it down when it is not in use and it doesn't take up much space.
Open it up when I'm ready to sew.
The best part of all--I have drawers underneath for all my things!!!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Church in the morning and evening, and Scott made dinner :)

Caitlin went to a craft day at Stephanie's house and made some very special projects, including the flowers on the gift bag, the card, and the flower pot with all of the jewels.
The other presents Caitlin made at school.
I love my girls!!! It is great to be a Mom. God is soooooo good.

Graduation

Friday night, we attended Graduation at GCA where I graduated from and where Caitlin now goes to school. It brought back many wonderful memories.
Andrea Ly was Valedictorian with a 4.0. (I remember her as a baby.)
She is also Caitlin's piano teacher.
Brittany was happy to see her friend Kimberly and Kimberly is always glad to see to that "Brittany has hair".

Grilling in the rain

Scott started grilling barbecue chicken legs and then, it decided to pour down rain.
Caitlin was nice enough to use the umbrella to try to save the food. It rained so hard it cooled down the grill too much and he had to bring them inside to cook. "Murphy's law" strikes again!!!

Puzzles

Caitlin has been working very hard on a 250 and a 500 piece puzzle. Brittany decided to get in on the fun and has also been doing her wooden puzzles.
Caitlin and Brittany made Oatmeal chocolate chip bars with Caitlin's very own cooking set from school, which included her own cookbook and everything.

The Great Escape

Friday night and Saturday was our Annual Ladies Retreat at the Embassy Suites. All the Ladies get to escape for Friday evening and Saturday. Our guest speaker was Paula Torres (on the right), missionary to Brazil. The theme was Change My Heart, O God.
Rose did a beautiful job arranging all the details.
There was an 11:30 p.m. Whataburger feast after the meeting. Our room was one of the party rooms that we invited anyone to come and eat. So we talked and ate...
and talked and ate...
and talked and ate some more.

Here is my mint Oreo brownie trifle, just to make you all jealous of all of our fun!!! Are you hungry yet?
Our lights finally went out at 4:30 in the morning, but we picked up at breakfast where we left off :) We can hardly wait till next year.
